The Research Center for Competition Law, CUPL was founded on Mar. 14th, 2007, and the vice-president of CUPL, Prof. Jianzhong Shi, was the director of center.
Since the foundation, the Center actively conducts research on competition law and academic interaction, and has become indispensable research institute of competition law center in China. The websiteChina Competition Law(www. competitionlaw.cn) created by Center has become the important channel of understanding China competition law for scholars at home and abroad, and also the platform for showing the academic achievements of China competition law research.
The director of Center, Prof. Jianzhong Shi, was invited by Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council as member of expert examination committee for the Revision of Law Against Unfair Competition. He participated in the entire revision and examination of Law Against Unfair Competition
After the enactment and official release ofLaw Against Unfair Competition, the Center edited and publishedLaw Against Unfair Competition—Analysis of Law and Exploration of Theory(China Renmin University Press 2008 edition),Competition Law of 31 Countries(CUPL Press 2009 edition), etc.; published law articles such asthe Definition of Relevant Markets underLaw Against Unfair Competition, (Chongqing Social Science, Issue 4, 2009),Features, Concentration, and Weakness of ChinaLaw Against Unfair Competition, ( the Jurist, Issue 1, 2008),Analysis of Agricultural Exemption ofLaw Against Unfair Competition,(joint work, Oriental Journal, Issue 3, 2008),Structure of Quasi-judicial System underLaw Against Unfair Competition,(joint work, Science, Technology and Law, Oct. 2008),The draft of Law Against Unfair Competitionshould further modified on provisions of liability, (Xinhua Digest, Issue 21, 2007), etc.
Since the foundation, the Center has invited scholars from Japan, Germany, United Kingdom, South Korea, the United States, Hong Kong, Tai Wan, and Macao. Meanwhile, the Center has accepted interview by Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, iFeng.com, People.com, Sohu.com, NetBase and other paper-based media, and conduct projects commissioned by Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council, North China Grid Company Ltd., Beijing Unicom Corporation, and other administrative agencies or enterprises.
