In May 12h 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., The Institute of Intellectual Property in China University of Political Science and Law (short for IIPL) hosted the fourth academic salon session in A1013 Scientific Research Building, XueYuan Campus, CUPL. This salon invited Mr. ChaoYuan Xue, the president of Beijing BiaoMeng Investment Corporation and the president of JuShi Investment Corporation, as the main lecturer. Prof. and Dissertation Supervisor XiaoQing Feng, the Director of Institute of Intellectual Property and Research Center of Intangible Assets Management, hosted this salon and lecture.
The thesis of salon was “Intellectual Property Financial Practice for Enterprises”. President ChaoYuan Xue made excellent lecture to students. Firstly, He introduced the assessing of intellectual property, the elements that affected the assessing process, the assessing methods, and the difficulty in assessing process. Meanwhile, he analyzed the financing process of IP such as sales of ownership, pledge loaning, shares investment, and trust. Moreover, he discussed how to make use of patent and trademark to enhance the competence of enterprises. Finally, he described the management of intellectual property financing system as well as the management of IP assets.
President ChaoYuan Xue not only taught IP financing knowledge and his IP management experiences in a humorous and intelligible manner, but shared his life experiences and enlightenments with all participants. He suggested students with sincere words and earnest wishes that the future IP career path demanded exploration on different fields and the learning of distinctive knowledge. Students should aim at becoming integrated talents with interdisciplinary learning and foreign language skills. Such strategy was of significant importance to students’ future career plan and development. Last but not least, He had strong confidence in the Intellectual Property Financial Practice for Enterprises in the future.
After the main lecture, the salon went into oral discussion. Students actively proposed questions on IP financing in a heartily atmosphere and the lecturer answered with patience. All participants acknowledged the benefits from this salon. The salon finally reached a great success and ended with enthusiastic applauds from all participants.
